When it comes to web hosting there are a number of available options, but the most economically efficient option is the use of a Virtual Private Server (VPS) running the Linux operating system. The control and security benefits of a VPS server combined with the openness and scalability of Linux makes this a high performing and cost effective hosting platform.

A VPS is essentially a “slice” of a physical server. Multiple virtual machines can be installed on one physical server, allowing the hosting provider to rent out smaller portions of the servers resources without compromising security or limiting control to the end user. A VPS carries many of the benefits of a dedicated server, but at a cost closer to that of a shared hosting solution and even cheaper than colocation hosting.

Some of the major benefits of a VPS include:

• Performance: Due to the fact that the resources allocated for virtual machines are dedicated and static, heavy load on other virtual machines that may be hosted on the same physical server will not affect the performance of your virtual machine, as might happen with a shared hosting solution.

• Security: Aside from performance, the biggest issue with shared hosting is the security. Due to the fact that shared hosting servers host everyone’s hosting accounts on a single operating system, hackers might have easy access to your website through security flaws in another website that may be hosted on the same server. With a VPS, this is not a concern. Since each VPS runs its own dedicated operating system a hacker will not have access to your website by exploiting someone else’s security flaws.

• Stability: Since each VPS runs its operating system, a software or configuration issue caused by another hosting customer or maintenance being performed on someone else’s server will only affect that server and not yours.

• Flexibility: Similar to a dedicated server, with a VPS you have the ability to choose what operating system you would like to use. In additional, VPS servers can be expanded or shrunk to fit your specific budget and performance needs.

Linux is one of the most widely used operating systems in the world. Running the Linux operating system on your server yields a number of benefits over other available options, many of which are due to the fact that it is free and is an open source software platform. The fact that Linux is open source means that it is to develop, update and maintained by individual programmers and enthusiasts working together for the greater good of the technology industry as a whole. Due to this, Linux has an extremely large support community available to assist you with any questions or issues that you might encounter. Linux is an extremely flexible, scalable, versatile and secure platform for almost any type of server that you may want to run. An example of the flexibility of Linux is the ability to load the operating system on either low-end cheap servers or more expensive high-end servers.

I install iTunes and it’s some good software however I’ve been having an issue. iTunes skips, it’s not skipping songs, but it’s skipping through the song as if the sync was off. A skipping MP3 is pretty weird. So I’ve been researching solutions and trying new things. Defragging didn’t help, actually nothing really helped until I found this solution. I’m glad I found a solution because it’s driving me nuts and I’m pretty hung over today. I don’t need my songs skipping while working and trying to ignore my headache.

I have Quicktime 7.0.4 installed right now. So the solution is based on that version.

iTunes Skipping on Windows XP Solution:
1) Close iTunes and Quicktime
2) Click the start button
3) Go to the control panel
4) Click on Quick Time
5) Select the Audio tab
6) Click on ‘Safe mode (waveOut only)’
7) Click okay. Relaunch iTunes. So far so good (for me)

I hope this will be able to help you if you’re having this issue. If not check out google and search for
itunes skipping, itunes skips, itunes skipping problem

Good luck!

Edit: It still jerks a bit on every single f’n song. But it doesn’t skip through the entire song now. yay.

(this is meant as a joke – don’t take this seriously)

Top 10 Ways to get Drunk for Five Dollars or Less

Number 10. Be a frosh (freshman).

It’s not true that every frosh can be knocked into unconsciousness by waving a tom Collins under their nose, but as those of us who go hunting for frosh on “New Kids night” at the local dance holes know, the phenomena is not rare. Frosh are usually young, inexperienced, and sometimes even illegal to entice into your boudoir. If anyone can get drunk on five bucks, it’s them.

Number 9. Be female.

Chivalry is not dead! While you ladies can’t expect guys to risk their life, or miss an episode of star trek for you, you may still be able to get some alcohol out of them. Try standing around the bar, sipping water with a grimace on your face. Dress smutty. Smile at guys as they walk by, the drunker geekier the better. If you want to get more than one drink out of a guy start talking about how hot it is. Act intoxicated. Become even more friendly. At an appropriate time have a friend come by and “save you”, then move on to the next guy.

Number 8. Try Medication.

Sleeping pills. Allergy pills. If it says “do not take alcohol with this drug” or “do not operate a motorized vehicle while under the influence of this drug”, it must be good! Intelligent students such as ourselves, while not having a shred of pharmaceutical knowledge, can see that these statements are a plot by alcohol producers to keep us buying large quantities of booze.

Number 7. If it ends in ‘ol, drink it!

Alcohol isn’t the only intoxicant ending in ‘ol’. Methanol, Butanol and Propanol are all fine safe intoxicants, often available at bargain prices. Stay away from aerosol, cholesterol, and drool.

Number 6. Sleep Deprivation and Sickness.

For some reason, your body doesn’t want you to have any fun, and actively fights alcohol -enhancement. When you’re sick, and tired, your body’s defenses are at their lowest. This means its often one of the most cost effective times to get plastered! Best of all, if you puke, you can blame it on the flu.

Number 5. Try Antifreeze

Hey, ten thousand deranged alcoholic street people can’t be wrong!

Number 4. Smash and Grab.

Drunk on less than five bucks? Try drunk for free! If you’re smart enough to figure out your news reader, chances are you’re smart enough to plan a little robbery. But don’t forget to take the time to pour the perfect beer.

Number 3. Scavenge.

Go to any bar and you’ll usually see alcohol that people just don’t want. Most often these finds will be at empty tables, with chairs with jackets on them that people also don’t want. Grab the booze, and the jackets, and leave. Do so stealthily though. You wouldn’t believe how many losers will pretend that they really wanted their cast offs. Finders keepers!

Number 2. Hang around with Losers or Generous People (same thing)

Some people are crazed enough to buy alcohol for other people, and expect nothing in return. Well, they might expect after they buy you a round that you’ll do the same, but you never signed any contract. Generous people usually stop buying alcohol when they realize what a cheap bastard you are, but losers will usually keep on doing it. They’ll be so overwhelmed by the fact that you’re actually talking to them, they won’t worry about little details, like that they’re spending their tuition money to get you pissed.

And now …(drum-roll)… The Number 1 Way to get Drunk… for Five Dollars or Less: … Make Beer Fast!

Finger the originator of this article, an address will be given. Mail one beer to this address. Using saturation posting techniques, repost this article to enough newsgroups for about a million people to see it. Within a few weeks you’ll have received a million beers. In another few weeks the postal system will collapse…

… address coming soon…

At the following site you’ll learn a quick and easy way to clear all email from the queue from your web host.

This will not remove anything it should not remove. The script just clears all email from the queue safely and this is ONLY for qmail. ( Note: This is not for use with any other email programs ). Find more here at the link for qmail.

Here’s a problem I had with my Samsung N140 Netbook. I’m not able to see the entire full screen when I install apps or run some apps. What this means is that the agree check boxes, cancel buttons, and ok/accept buttons are off the screen! I can’t see what the hell I’m clicking if I hit the tab, tab, tab, enter.

I asked a friend about this, he has a Samsung N130 and he had no clue. It’s been bothering him too. I figured out a solution by accident. If only I would have read the manual! But I threw it away without noticing. Oops!

So all you need to do is rotate the screen on the Samsung N140 to view all of the buttons, options, and check boxes on any installation or application that you’re running. To rotate the screen you hold down the fn button and the alt button at the same time, then click the arrow buttons (up, down, left, right). Whatever arrow you click, that’s where the top of the screen will be.

So example: fn + alt + arrow left
This will rotate the screen so the top of the screen is on the left of your monitor.

If you click fn + shift + arrow key, you’re going to end up changing your resolution to something funny. If you do this click fn + shift + arrow up (and if that doesn’t work, keep pressing other arrows) and you’ll return to your native resolution. fn + ctrl + arrow keys do nothing.

How to remove ICQ default search in FireFox

I installed ICQ 7 the other (ICQ 7.2) and it took over my PC a little. It installed a toolbar for FireFox and Internet Explorer and also set itself as the default search engine. To remove it I went into my control panel, clicked on Programs and Features, removed the ICQ Toolbar. But ICQ was still the default search when I typed something in the address bar (instead of the search bar). So I searched and searched and found the solution here.

To remove ICQ toolbar from FireFox

go to Tools->Addons and find the ICQ Toolbar and uninstall it.

To change the FireFox search back to normal:

Open a new tab

Type about:config in the address bar

Type keyword.URL to find the entry

Change that entry to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q= to return to the normal google search. (keyword.URL currently shows http://search.icq.com/search/afe_results.php?ch_id=afex&tb_ver=2.0.0.4&q=)

You can change the default search URL to anything you want instead of Google. Here’s more info about the FireFox keyword.URL

Well I found out the problem is due to the fact that I removed my battery from my notebook (or laptop, however you want to call it). You can also have this problem if your laptop is plugged into a UPS too. Here’s a quote from their site.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938322

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:

The computer is plugged into an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

The battery has been removed from the computer.

When these conditions are true, the computer’s role may be set incorrectly in the BIOS.

Below are some causes that might trigger teen migraines and a handful useful steps on how parents can help their suffering teenagers. Migraines are painful and can last a long time while interfering with your day to day life. This is especially true for teenagers. Here are some possible causes and solutions to help your teenager through their migraine problems.

You should know the facts. Migraines are three times more likely in women than men. Migraines can happen in children and adolescents, not just adults. It’s one of the most common headaches and can be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and light hypersensitivity.

Here are some common causes that might trigger migraines:

1. Noise
2. Drastic weather change
3. Unbalanced hormones
4. Certain foods
5. Vices
6. Sleeping habits
7. Not eating routine meals
8. Stress
9. Other vices

Here are some useful steps on how parents can help their migraine suffering teenagers and possibly avoid the migraine headaches:

Step 1: Keep a routine sleeping schedule. Don’t let your teenagers oversleep or stay up too late any day of the week.

Step 2: Migraines in teenagers can easily be triggered by stress. Remember that teens have a lot of emotional stress and excitement in their lives. Try some relaxation excesses or create a relaxing atmosphere for them when you can.

Step 3: Stay out of the sun.

Step 4: Teenagers shouldn’t skip meals. This could aid in the cause of migraines. If the body is not getting what it needs on a regular basis a severe headache can occur.

Step 5: Watch their food! Some foods trigger migraines. Consult your physician for more information. Prolonged sun exposure can lead to a migraine.

Step 6: Keep a journal and track events that lead up to your teenager’s migraine headache to help avoid migraines in the future.

And finally, you should consult with your physician for other ideas on how to treat and prevent teen migraines.

You can find many over the counter acne cream products that contains benzoyl peroxide. It can be used in mild to moderate acne. They can be gel or cream and it is applied two to three times daily to the affected area for best result. You must use it consistently up to six weeks before seeing the full effect.

In addition to dissolving the keratin that clogs the pores, benzoyl peroxide in a 10% solution it also prevents new acne from forming. they can make lotions and soaps through this chemical and it’s one of the most popular acne products in the market.

Things you must consider about Benzoyl Peroxide.Since it is not antibiotic, you can use it indefinitely for it will not form any bacteria resistant to it. But, there’s a caution in the strength of this chemical, it has a strong oxidizer which is a weak form of bleach so it will dry the skin over time, and it could cause skin irritations and redness.

To avoid the irritations and redness while continuing the acne regimen, it’s a good idea to lower the concentration of benzoyl peroxide. 2.5% is a good strength to choose along with using a moisturizer daily to prevent irritations. Used in the right combination, benzoyl peroxide and a good quality skin moisturizer can be a great start while taking control of a mild to moderate acne problem.

Retin-A is also a popular treatment for acne. It became popular in 1980′s. This treatment is derived from vitamin A and best in treating blackheads and whiteheads type of acne. Retin-A removes clogging of pore and also prevents whitehead and blackhead from forming. During most studies, they also found out that this chemical can also improve wrinkles and used by those who wants to look younger.

Things to consider when using Retin-A. Whether it is a prescription or the over the counter Retin-A, it has the ability to irritate the skin and can cause your skin to flake when used as a treatment. It is advised to use the best quality of moisturizer the whole day. When the flaking occurs, use wash cloth to remove the flakes and reapply a moisturizer as often as possible.

In treating your acne problem, all you need is patience. There are many advertisers claim that their product can cure your acne overnight or within a week, but the important thing to remember is you need to be consistent on what you are doing and you’ll find you just might get that reward you’re looking for… clearer and more beautiful skin.

Read more these products here and here.

Cleaning the bathroom is the most important things that every person should know. Here’s what you need to do so you can have a clean bathroom.

Put the toiletries and all the items in the bathroom in their respective places o they are not scattered all over the bathroom. Close all the cabinets and take out the empty bottles out of the bathroom, especially those that does not belong on the bathroom. Put all the dirty clothes and towels on the hamper. Put on your rubber gloves.

Next, you should start on your toilet. Put on bleach or toilet bowl cleaning solution. Be careful for some of bleach can cause suffocation and strong odors. Let the solution stays for 20-30 minutes. Wait for the bleach to sit it.

Sweep the floor. Bathrooms accumulate a great deal of hair and other detritus. Use a rubber bristle broom to get the dirt between tiles.Wipe all the hair on the tub using a paper towel. Wipe a cleaning solution on the tub and on your shower walls. Wash the mildew on the anti-slip tub. Soak it on a hot water and add some bleach. Scrub the bathtub as well. Don’t forget the shower curtain; it is also prone to mildew. You can soak it on hot water and spray it on a part where there mildew. If it is washable, wash it on a washing machine. Once the washing is done, rinse the tub and the shower with hot water. Hot water dries faster.

Now it’s time to start cleaning the sink and counter area. You may use whichever cleaning product you used on the tub, but use it sparingly as it is harder to rinse the soap off a counter. Scrub all the soap scum and tooth paste off, rinsing your sponge thoroughly as you go along. A toothbrush or cotton swabs can be handy for getting the junk out from between the tap and handles. Never use the same rag or paper towel you used in cleaning the toilet. This can spread leftover disease-causing germs to your sink and counter area.

Then return to the toilet, scrub all the dirt with a toilet brush, getting the solution-infused bowl water under the rim. Spray the rim and lid of the bowl with the same cleanser you used on your tub and sink. Wipe or use disinfectant towelettes, much easier for getting all the nooks and crannies of the seat and lid. If you are concerned about germs on the outside of the bow just spray a bit of your bleach-water solution on to the surface and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping. Always wear gloves when cleaning your toilet & only use those gloves for cleaning the bathroom. Don’t use the same that you use in the kitchen. It can cause cross contamination & could make you & your family very ill. It is also a good idea to use paper towels when wiping the exterior of the toilet so you can dispose of them after use.

Wash the walls, molding, and windows if necessary. If these are made of wood, hot, soapy water from a bucket should be used. If they are tiled, you can use the same cleaning product you used on your tub and sink. If you want a germ free cabinets and drawers use a hot soapy bleach water. Clean the ceiling. The aforementioned bleach-water solution in a spray bottle can be used to eliminate mildew spots on the ceiling as well.

Use a glass cleaner when cleaning the windows and mirror with paper towels. Don’t use soap, bleach and sponge on glass. It will not shine.
18. Mop the floor with a hot soapy bleach water. And mop it again and remove the slippery soap. Get out of the bathroom and clean the mop. Dispose the sponge that you use. Wash your hands and change your clothes to avoid contamination.

And there you have it! You’ve successfully battled a dirty job and won!

Here’s what I found and here’s what I think they were originally. I did a massive find and replace using phpmyadmin to fix them.

One error appeared as this
I think the original one was a single quotation so I replaced it with this

It’s kind of crazy but now the text seems normal on the site. It looks like it could be some messed up language.

Are you ready for your job interview? Did you know that tying your necktie is one of the important factors in applying for a job? If so, are you sure you tie it correctly? Check this out.

There are four ways to tie your tie; we have Four in hand knot, Bow tie knot, Windsor knot and half Windsor knot. But the most common used tie is the Windsor knot.

Let’s learn how to tie a tie:

Place you neck tie under your collar. Make the right end of the color higher (the narrow one) at least 12 inches from the left (the wider side)

Then, cross the left side going to the right.

Then insert the wide part (left side) going up in the middle between the collar and the tie.

Bring the wide one down in front. Then loop the wide one going to the right until the wide side reaches the front.

From the front, pull the wide side again and loop it.

Then bring the wide side down going to the knot in front.

Make the wide side down and do a knot.

Then lastly, you have to tighten the tie using your both hands going up to your collar.

Now, you’re done and ready to go for your interview. Good luck!
