MTV and MSN are sponsoring Dear Corey. This is a venue you can ask Corey Haim and Corey Feldman questions, apparently leading up to their groundbreaking television show: “The Two Coreys”. Why? Why? Why? Is it because we can’t let go of losers? Oh, yeah. That’s right. We can’t.

I don’t know why, but I’ve been bombarded with cheese related references today (luckily not pelted, tho). Here’s some good cheese-related stuff at around lunchy-lunchy time…
Maturing cheese becomes and internet star (Reuters): A large English cheddar cheese has become a star of the Internet, attracting more than 1 million viewers to sit and stare at it as it slowly ripens.

Richard Cheese, Lounge Singer Extraordinarie: Richard covers such great songs as “Rape Me” by Nirvana, “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails, and “Nookie” by Limp Bizkit.

I Love Cheese!: The name says it all.

What post would be complete without Wikipedia?: Cheese.
One year after the tornado ripped through Iowa City, things have gotten back to near-normal. In the next week or so, I’ll be traveling around town, snapping shots of local stuff that has still been effected by this. Call it heart-warming if you will, but I like closure.
Edit - It’s been raining like mad out here for what seems like the last week. Once it dries up, photos will be taken…
Edit - Umm…. I’m lazy. And busy. I will take pics. I promise. Hopefully before the 2nd year anniversary.
Awe yeah! My sweet baby and I headed to itz today for some not so good food and really fun games. After sitting in the Galaxy area, eating too much buffet food, and then puking in the bathroom, and then coming back for more (haha I joke i joke!)… we headed over to the game room. We played some games, we had some fun, and I won two iPod shuffles nearly back to back!
It was awesome because I didn’t know how to play the game since this was my first visit. But never fear because I’m always in “Smoother Mode” and I hit it with the BOOYAKAH! Take a look and enjoy these pictures as I listen to music at the same time.

I came across this today. Pretty sweet stuff. Read on!
This one really stuck out:
“25. Bill Gates may have a million times more money than me, but he isn’t going to live a million times longer than me, watch a million times more sunsets than me, make love to a million times more women than me, drink a million times more fine wines than me, listen to a million times more Beethoven String Quartets than me, nor sire a million times more children than me. Human beings don’t scale.”

1. Everything takes three times longer than it should. Especially the money part.
2. The best way to get approval is not to need it.
3. People want what they can’t have. In fact, that’s pretty much all they do want.
4. Once you become an entrepreneur, you find the company of non-entrepreneurs a lot harder to be around. You’ve seen things they haven’t; the wavelengths alter, it’s that simple.
5. In a world of over-supply and commodification, you are no longer paid to supply. You’re being paid to deliver something else. What that is exactly, is not always obvious.
Following up on my previous post, I was listening to XM Radio Online today, when “Informer” came on the 90’s station. I had to listen to it. It said the album the song was from was “Snow’s Greatest Hits”. I think that one-song disc should actually be called “Snow’s Only Hit”. Ugh…
Holy crap… my computer has been FREAKING out this week and I have no idea why. So I did the alt+ctr+delete and took a look at the running processes. svchost.exe was going crazy and using 99-100% of my CPU all the time! If I clicked on end task it would come back a few minutes later… not to mention the beautiful look of Windows XP got messed up after I ended the task (and you know how everybody wants their Windows to look slick). So I did some searching and searching and searching and tried many different things…
The problem
Here’s why svchost was using so much of my CPU. The culprit is Windows Update! I had automatic updates on and svhost would flip out.
Here’s what didn’t work for me:
* I tried to do Windows Update manually. My computer just froze up, nothing would happen after a few minutes, my PC got really hot.
* I tried a patch from Microsoft, but I didn’t bookmark it. I also read this…
Link: Microsoft Support
Description: FIX: When you run Windows Update to scan for updates that use Windows Installer, including Office updates, CPU utilization may reach 100 percent for prolonged periods
Here’s what worked…
I read this forum post and gave it a try. Here’s what I did…
Part 1 of the svchost fix
Correct Services Setup
1. Click Start -> Run, type “services.msc” (without quotation marks) in the open box and click OK.
2. Double click the service “Automatic Updates”.
3. Click on the Log On tab, please ensure the option “Local System Account” is selected and the option “Allow service to interact with desktop” is unchecked.

So, apparently, MS gave itself an A+ in security for Vista. Yeah, I’m the smartest person in the world, according to my own research. Big company studies are fun, aren’t they?
