Motorcycle accidents are a well-known leading cause of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Together with auto accidents, they are the single largest cause of brain injury in the United States. One out of every five motorcycle accidents results in head or neck injuries, which account for most motorcycle fatalities. And partly because drivers often don’t see motorcyclists or yield them the right-of-way, motorcyclists are at higher risk of an accident than drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimated that, per mile traveled in 2003, a motorcyclist was 32 times more likely to die in an accident than a passenger in a car.
Motorcyclists, even those who wear helmets, are most likely to sustain non-penetrative injuries to the front of the head, damaging parts of the brain responsible for speech and higher functions. Those without helmets may also be susceptible to a penetrating brain injury, in which an object enters the head and skull, damaging the soft tissue of the brain itself.
Helmets Essential to Prevent Traumatic Brain Injury
No one would argue that some dyed in the wool democrats and republicans will always vote their party’s ticket. Loyalty to a party can be both a plus and a minus depending on who the candidate is. Other reasons we vote could be considered outright discriminatory if they occurred in a different setting. Let’s see!
Ever since Barack Obama won the Iowa caucuses he has courted the black vote more aggressively than at any other time in his campaign. His poll numbers are swelling exponentially among blacks and he is expected to garner as much as four fifths of the black vote across the board throughout the primary.
Only one day after upsetting Obama in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton coddled the black voters in a Baptist church in the heart of Harlem New York. Not long after her visit to Harlem Obama trumped her efforts to win the black vote by speaking at Ebenezer Church in Atlanta Georgia where Martin Luther King once pastored. But for all the efforts neither Hillary nor any other white candidate can expect to achieve much among the black voters above or below the Mason Dixon line.

Turns out there is a name for this: The Dunning-Kruger Effect. Awesome. I know this happens all the time, but now I know what to call it.
Well… that really sucks. Some guy in Serbia was drunk or drugged and some how go into a bear cage and got eaten.
I just realized this. You know you are getting old when all your favorite bands (Foo Fighters, 311, Sevendust, Garbage) start coming out with Greatest Hits Albums. Dammit. I thought I had at least a few more years. At least I still have my teeth.
