I install iTunes and it’s some good software however I’ve been having an issue. iTunes skips, it’s not skipping songs, but it’s skipping through the song as if the sync was off. A skipping MP3 is pretty weird. So I’ve been researching solutions and trying new things. Defragging didn’t help, actually nothing really helped until I found this solution. I’m glad I found a solution because it’s driving me nuts and I’m pretty hung over today. I don’t need my songs skipping while working and trying to ignore my headache.

I have Quicktime 7.0.4 installed right now. So the solution is based on that version.

iTunes Skipping on Windows XP Solution:
1) Close iTunes and Quicktime
2) Click the start button
3) Go to the control panel
4) Click on Quick Time
5) Select the Audio tab
6) Click on ‘Safe mode (waveOut only)’
7) Click okay. Relaunch iTunes. So far so good (for me)

I hope this will be able to help you if you’re having this issue. If not check out google and search for
itunes skipping, itunes skips, itunes skipping problem

Good luck!

Edit: It still jerks a bit on every single f’n song. But it doesn’t skip through the entire song now. yay.

This could be a fun one because MS holds their code under tight wraps while open-source allows people to change and improve upon the code, so basically MS looked at it and said, “Hey! We think we did that.” Let’s just hope this doesn’t go anywhere because there may be some fur flying if MS doesn’t allow the same courtesy…
